Week ONE ... of the 7 Week Self-Love Party

Welcome to Week ONE, beautiful souls! Let’s begin the first week of our Self-Love Party with some fun...by watching some magical, but not-so-christmassy movies. In the watch list below, there are 7 suggested movies for you to enjoy with your Inner Child:

  • It’s a Wonderful Afterlife (2010)
  • Turning Red (2022)
  • Inside Out (2015)
  • What’s Love Got To Do With It? (2022)
  • Saving Mr. Banks (2013)
  • A Christmas Karen (2022)
  • Eat Pray Love (2010)

Run a Google search or use my Watch List (link below) on IMDb to find out what is the best watching option for your region. Some of the movies can be found free on channels such as Freeve / ITVx, Disney+/ Netflix subscription, Prime or rented on Amazon. You can choose to watch all of them or a selected few on a full movie pamper day... or you can watch one movie a week as a weekly date night with your Inner child.

{You can find my Watch List of the above movies on IMDb here: Explore Self Love and Healing }

Remember that the key to Self-Love and healing your Inner Child Self is building "Your relationship with Yourself". Every relationship begins with an acknowledgement, and the step by step process of getting to know each other as well as communicating. So what better way to start than a fun activity that encourages exploration? Create a ritual through things your Inner Child would enjoy or benefit from, and celebrate your joys together. Be curious...allow your Inner Child to express themselves fully and allow any emotions that come up to flow freely. What did you excitedly jump up and down for as a child...popcorn, dancing, or cartoons?

After watching the movie, make time to reflect and learn together with your Inner Child through exploring these questions in your journal:

  1. In the movies that you have chosen, what themes and characters did you feel your Inner Child Self relating to? Explore why or what memories come to mind. (For example; Identity Crisis, People Pleasing, Mother / Father Wound, Self Worth, Abandonment / Trust Wound, Self Rejection, Emotional Processing, Inherited Trauma, Society / Cultural expectations, Survival Mode, etc)
  2. How do you feel or what was the strongest emotion that came up throughout the movie? What do you believe your Inner Child is trying to tell you through the emotion?
  3. What does the movie inspire you to do, learn, practice, become or change? Explore how you can do it through a mind map of ideas or some action steps.

Every journey begins with one small first step, so please be patient, encouraging and kind to yourself. Allow yourself to do as much or as little as you want to, but make a note of why you choose to do so and how it makes you feel. No matter how much you do.... Congratulate yourself or celebrate your efforts in wanting to give yourself more love! It is the journey that matters, so do let go of the destination and try to be present with yourself at every step. Also, feel free to share how you are doing in the comments (below) or ask questions. Have fun and see you in Week 2!

Until the next time,

May ❤
